Costs + Profit
Figure out all your costs ( manpower, overhead, supplies) + what you would want to make from the contract per month
Ex:
1 employee @ 12.65/hr (includes 15%)
×3/hrs a visit
=
$37.95/day
×3/days a week
=
$113.85
×4.33/weeks a month (4.33 is equal to 52 weeks divided by 12 months)
=
$492.97 + $40(supplies)
Total Cost:
532.97
$2976.03(profit) + 492.97(costs) = $3509.00 total bid
Production rate
This gives a more accurate quote but is also harder to calculate due to variables.
Here’s how to figure it out:
1. Choose a task
2. Measure the area
3. Note building variables
4. Observe and record the time to complete the task
5. Average the rates
6. Adjust for variables
7. Fine-tune your rates
Here’s the actual formula to figure your production rate:
60 / (average minutes from time study) x (number of square feet in the study)
Ex:
10,000 sqft building
You know your production rate for this kind of building is 2500sqft per hour with no variables.
That comes out to 4/hrs per cleaning.
Your total hourly rate is $30(total cost + profit)
5/days X 4/hrs X $30/hr X 4.33/weeks(4.33 is equal to 52 weeks divided by 12 months)
=
$2598.00 total bid

Square footage
Building size X cents
Ex:
30,000 sqft X .08 cents = $2400.00 total bid
