🙏As always thanks for reading CleanWork Report #0007!
Let’s get right to it!
The Importance Of Cross-Referencing
Win or lose, cross-referencing your quotes with your competitor’s is very important.
The visual above should explain it all.
If you don’t cross-reference you may never realize how low or high your bidding.
Cross-reference your last quote. You may be surprised.
📓Greatest Lessons From Successful Cleaning Companies VOL. 1 - Lesson 6
Saving a percentage of your profits should be done from day one.
Without cash on hand expanding your commercial business is impossible.
Not only is expanding impossible but if you have employees and are running your business invoice to invoice, you are asking for trouble.

📢 A Way To Promote Your Business

Put a listing in the phone book.
Most people don’t use the phone book but getting a steady flow of new leads is all about compounding.
You might only get 1 call a year from doing this but that’s 1 opportunity you would not have gotten otherwise.

Thoughts:
So one time jobs need to be seen and walked through thoroughly.
This is a one and done job. You’re not coming back to touch up, fix, or finish what you started.
Also, this is a top to bottom restaurant deep clean.
With all this taken in to consideration, here’s what I would quote:
$13.8/hr(15% overhead included) X 8/hours = $110.40
$110.40 X 5/employees = $552.00 manpower cost
$552.00 (manpower cost) + $150.00 (supplies)
$2,000 (quote) - $702.00 (manpower cost + supplies) = 1,298.00(profit)

Thoughts:
I would have to agree with Mark Lineberry. If we don’t get to see the facility we don’t bid.
And since this was a short-notice request for a quote and it’s only 9,000 square feet, I would personally pass.
But if I were to give a quote it would probably be between $3,500.00 - $4,000.00

How to strip a floor
This week’s gem is a video from The Cleaning Videos Youtube channel.
This is a super in-depth video on how to strip VCT flooring.
It’s a frequently asked question that pops up a lot in the groups on Facebook, so I figured some people would find this beneficial.
Not really into videos? Here’s a detailed post from the Janitorial Learning Center.
